How digitising my wardrobe made me fall in love with my clothes again

How digitising my wardrobe made me fall in love with my clothes again

Everybody has a weakness.

Mine is clothes.

I used to buy more than I needed. Not because I had nothing to wear, but because I had forgotten what I already owned.

Then I created a digital wardrobe.

I photographed and catalogued the pieces I already had, and suddenly I could see my whole wardrobe in one place. It took time to set up, but once it was done, it saved me a lot of time.

It completely changed the way I looked at my clothes.

I rediscovered things I had forgotten about, started creating combinations I had never thought of before and genuinely fell back in love with pieces I already owned.

And, perhaps most importantly, it made me much more conscious about buying something new.

Taking wardrobe organisation one step further

I have helped many clients declutter and organise their wardrobes.

For some people, that is exactly what they need.

But if you love fashion, own a lot of clothes and have limited wardrobe space, you can take it one step further and digitise your wardrobe.

I use an app that lets me photograph every item and create a visual version of my wardrobe on my phone.

From there, you can build and save outfits, plan what you are going to wear, create packing lists and keep track of what you actually wear.

It is especially useful when clothes are packed tightly into a wardrobe, stored seasonally or when you simply have too much to see properly at once.

My real-life version of Clueless

Anyone who loves fashion will probably remember Cher’s computerised wardrobe in Clueless.

This is basically the modern version.

Your entire wardrobe in your hand, with the ability to play around with outfits without pulling half of your clothes onto the bedroom floor.

For the fashionista with a lot of clothes and not enough space, it is a dream come true.

So if you want to take your wardrobe organisation one step further, I can help you declutter it, organise it and create the digital version too.
